Business Analyst

Potter Electric Signal Company, the recognized world leader in Fire Systems and Sprinkler Monitoring Industry, is looking for a Business Analyst with razor-sharp attention to detail, broad knowledge of statistics, mathematics and analytics. Business analysts can expect to work with vast amounts of written and numerical information about product trends, volume of sales, customer experience, competitor activities and market trends. Responsibilities include gathering data, writing detailed reports on findings, and advising upper management on tactics.

Successful business analyst candidates should have at least five years' experience analyzing data to determine forecasting models and/or pricing strategies. Ideal candidates will have a proven aptitude for interpreting data for risk and gap analysis.

Business Analyst Responsibilities:

• Lead analytics strategy across company including recommendations for and implementation of systems.
• Develop and maintain key business metrics for analyzing and forecasting sales.
• Analyze data for both time and across geographies to identify trends influencing demand.
• Develop recommendations daily or weekly for business unit leaders supported by data.
• Support development of board and investment analysis, as needed.
• Write and maintain complex queries, ensuring efficient practices.
• Develop strategy to aggregate and present product insights from various tools including Epicor, Tableau, and Smartsheet.
• Monitor core product inventories closely and ensure changes in forecast are within lead times or notify purchasing of urgencies.
• Collaborates closely with Sales, Product Management and Purchasing to determine product mix for proper inventory levels.
• Assist with special projects and one-off analyses where needed and where capacity allows.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing or other related field, or more than 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• SQL Server experience required and Epicor knowledge is beneficial
• Working knowledge of database management tools and procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate to individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Focus on continuous process improvement
