Lead Software Design Engineer

 Potter Electric Signal Company has an immediate opening for a Lead Software Design Engineer in its Sprinkler/Industrial/Corrosion Division's Product Engineering / R&D Department. Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications.

 Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of ten years of engineering experience
• Strong embedded C programming skills
• A strong background in software development for embedded industrial controls hardware
• Some experience with networked devices and various communication protocols
• Some experience in troubleshooting hardware and software
• Ability to manage projects throughout a development schedule
• Good written and verbal communication skills

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Internet enabled devices.
• Working experience in designing products to compliance standards. (i.e. UL / CE / FM)
• Some experience with real-time embedded software development tools
• Knowledge of embedded C coding standards like BARR-C
• Experience writing procedures, design documentation, drawings and flow charts.
