Quality Assurance Technician

TowerIQ, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Potter Electric Signal Company is developing the next generation of public-safety wireless communications infrastructure. We engineer, manufacture, and support channel partners as the installation and maintain building code required emergency responder communication systems.

As a Quality Assurance technician for our New York City location you will team up with functional managers and installing / repair technicians to service our regional customers and provide them with quality results. Key activities will focus on:

• MTA Bus Fleet Radio Dispatch System Installations at the Vehicle Level (Fleet)
• Two Way Radio Communications Infrastructure installed in Buildings (ARCS)

What You Will Do:

• Support Fleet and ARCS project managers.
• Perform acceptance checklist on outgoing production.
• Work at customer locations, inspecting equipment installed in customer vehicles (fleet) and buildings (ARCS).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, compare to delivered production.
• Locate reference point(s) on an installation, such as cabling harnesses, mounting brackets, and compare to installation schematics.
• Ensure products meet customer expectations based on company objectives.

What You Need:

•  
• Experience as a quality control inspector, in electrical or electronics field.
• Understanding the complexities of hardware.
• Demonstrated technical troubleshooting ability, inclusive of proficiency in google docs/Microsoft office and ERP systems.
• Professional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to empathize with the target audience and tailor communications to that audience.
• Strong soft skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 30.

What is Preferred:

• FCC GROL Certification.
• Ability to speak and write in multiple languages.
• Prior experience in the fire alarm industry.
• Prior experience in manufacturing.
• Prior experience in customer support.
• Prior experience in the wireless industry.
